Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 1982. She is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Her parents had divorced and she relocated with her mother into Los Angeles. The actress landed her first part as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford, a character in Lost from 2004 to 2005 was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was a co-star with Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, wanted to move to film. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) as Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised the role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes as Shannon. In 2013 she appears in the sixth episode of Californication. The actress portrays Faith as a female groupie as well as a model for the stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is older that Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films starring her father as an adolescent. Her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films that she was a part of in 2006. In the film, her performance as Crazy Heart as a mother who has a child was nominated in an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. Then she appeared in dramas and comedies such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Her other roles are as an agent for Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well singing in Frank 2014, and the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the lead character. Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her first film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
